Anti-Hindu BBC does it again, calls ‘Jai Shri Ram’ a murder cry, shamelessly ignores the elephant in the room

Coming to the point, BBC, on the 10th of July published an article titled ‘Jai Shri Ram: The Hindu chant that became a murder cry’ by one Geeta Pandey. In it, the author publishes concocted stories and even absolute lies. The article aims to convince the readers that India is a boiling cauldron of communal hatred where Muslims are being denied fundamental rights. It further lies about PM Modi remaining silent on all cases of mob violence against Muslims. Only recently, PM Modi condemned the Tabrez Ansari lynching in Jharkhand and also stated that these lynchings are by no means a cornerstone to insinuate that the people of Jharkhand are a violent people. The article also claimed that ‘June has been a bloody month for Indian Muslims’, as if Muslims have been slaughtered enmassè in India. Why is the Indian media not calling out this Jurassic media network for lying through its teeth?

For far too long, BBC has been unrelenting in its effort to portray India as a violent, ruthless and backward country where the rule of the mob is the rule of law. Unfortunately for the BBC, it still seems to think that the British still rule half the world. Nothing else justifies their clear bias and regular propaganda against Indians and particularly Hindus, the followers of Bhagwan Ram. And BBC has done it again. With the title itself, we may infer how the news agency run by India’s former colonial masters, is still struggling to shake off its hatred for India.

This is not new for BBC as they have attacked Hindu traditions and festivals like Diwali for simply existing. Peddling an anti-India agenda has been BBC’s motive, as the foreign agency cannot handle the fact that India is slowly decolonizing even in the mind, that is, in its true sense, and that a stable India with an administration that keeps national interest first may progress to leave behind top western contenders soon. The dishonesty of BBC goes a long way along with its blatant opposition to the rise of nationalism in India and the success of Narendra Modi and his BJP government. Last November, BBC had termed tfipost.com as a ‘fake news website’, to which our Chief Editor, Ajit Datta replied in a piece which went viral after publication. BBC has regularly indulged in notoriously spinning an anti-India narrative, yet, there are some Indians which never give up on being awe-inspired by their ‘journalism’.

The painfully limited knowledge of the people who run the BBC with regards to commenting on Indian culture clearly reflects in their articles and B-grade opinion pieces. They do not seem to be aware of ‘Jo Bole So Nihaal’, which is the war cry of the Sikh regiment, ‘Raja Ram Chandra Ki Jai’, of the Rajputana rifles or of ‘Jai Maa Kali, Aayo Gorkhaali’, of the Gorkha regiment, or even of Har Har Mahadev. ‘Jai Shri Ram’ traces its roots to the Varna Sena of Bhagwan Hanuman which chanted it as a battle cry when Bhagwan Ram went to war with Ravana. Perhaps BBC, although being one of the largest news networks in the world, did not gather wind of the recent Chandni Chowk temple desecration where a mob of hundreds of Muslims descended upon a Devi temple and desecrated it while chanting ‘Naara-e-takbeer, Allah Hu Akbar’. The nerve with which BBC writes to claim that Jai Shri Ram has turned into a murder cry, completely pulverizes when it comes to writing about Islamic extremism, the elephant in the room, and the words ‘Allah Hu Akbar’ which unfortunately have long become synonymous with terrorism across the world. There has been not one article where the BBC has called out the Jihadi terrorists for inflicting destruction and killings worldwide using this slogan. I assume it does not suit their political motivations to blame an entire Muslim community for the acts of a few mad men. But why does this rule not apply when Hindus and their slogans are brought under question? Why are all Hindus generalized as bigoted people who hate Muslims? Whenever a Muslim commits an act of terror, media outlets like the BBC almost instantaneously write op-eds saying ‘Terror has no religion’. However, when a crime is committed by a Hindu, not only is it termed as an act of terror, but the entire Hindu civilization is termed as a ‘militant’ one.

Also, BBC seems to think that all crimes relating to mob violence in India are committed by Hindus alone and that Muslims are always the victims. This is not what objective journalism is supposed to look like: that only crimes committed by a few people of a particular religious domination are given limelight and when the same type of crime is committed by another person of another religious denomination, the news is not even taken up by such international media, clearly because it does not suit their political agendas. This is not a phenomenon exclusive to the BBC, however. Off late, many international media outlets have imbibed a blatantly anti-Hindu attitude.

Let this be known to BBC: This is the country of Bhagwan Ram. Ram is our deity. Ram is our idol. Ram is our immortal King, and we are proud of Bhagwan Ram.

Jai Shri Ram!
